Sometimes, I like driving my wife’s automatic Lexus. I detest the car, and would never not want to own a DD with a manual. But every once in a great while it’s nice to just sit back and not GAF.

Sometimes it’s nice to just cruise and relax and not have to bother with clutches. Especially if you get stuck in traffic...

Amen to that. I take my truck to work on Fridays instead of my stick shift Civic because I know there's going to be traffic and I don't want to deal with all that clutch work sometimes.

Actually, it’s weird, I never mind driving my stick in traffic, it seriously never bothers me. And of course it’s a blast on back roads. When I don’t mind the automatic is actually just normal driving around. Like when we go out to the mall or something, or are going up the highway to see her or my parents.

Driving a stick in traffic is great. Do it right, and you only have to touch the brakes occasionally.

Already did that. Used to DD a Dodge Ram with a Cummins turbo diesel and 6 speed in Hampton Roads, VA aka the ultimate traffic black hole. The clutch in the Cruze is so comparatively light I could blow on it to actuate it.

Bingo. Also, I used to DD my Ram with Cummins/6spd in the worst traffic in the world (except maybe L.A.) - Hampton Roads, VA. My left leg was twice the diameter of my right after a year and a half of that. It did get tiresome at times, but now I fear no clutch.
